In your video about the differences in human & synthetics you mentioned about the wide variety in them. Could you elaborate more. Which kinds of synthetic would you rate a greater quality vs lower. I'm a frequent cosplayer using a wide range of lengths. Recently I got a long red synthetic which was of a lower quality making it a miserable time for pictures. I'd really appreciate any help or advice you could give me!

If they are listed, polypropelene or PP fiber is typically the lowest grade and hardest to work with. It has a waxy feel and doesn't respond to heat or styling well. Monofibers such as Modulon or ShapeShifters are higher heat and offer styling options and durability. Xpression and Kanekalon are lower heat fibers and respond well to hot water styling. Toyokalon is considered a low heat fiber, but higher than Xpression or Kanekalon - though it doesn't style well with hot water.

There are quite a number of synthetic types available and each has a unique set of properties. If you can find a copy of Katie Bair's World of Wigcraft (discontinued and hard to find), it's a great resource on synthetics and cosplay styling.
