Customer Questions
What are "fiberglass" extensions and how do you do them?
Fiberglass extensions are a name for Brazillian Knot extensions. It is a method of tying bulk hair to the natural hair.
Does this thread withstand any type of heat? Or will it melt?
It is very resistant to high heat. We have flat ironed it as high as 410 with no melt and no discoloration.
Can you use this for the headband portion of a halo? TIA
It's pretty stretchy - you could try it - but you might find that you want something more rigid.
How much thread is required per knot for Brazilian Knots and how many installations can you get per spool? Thanks!
Everyone uses different amounts of thread per knot. I like to use a much longer piece than necessary so the ends are easy to hold in the tie. You can get one or two installations from one spool.
Could this be used to sew a weft?
This is designed to replace using an elastic band. For wefted installations, I would suggest the Original Weaving Thread.
can i make dreads out of this?
Hi Robert! This elastic thread itself is not a material we would recommend you use to make dreadlocks, but is great for installing dreadlocks into natural hair! Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions!
