How to Install Single Ended (SE) and Double Ended (DE) Synth Dreads on Super Short Hair


Synthetic Dreadlocks on Super Short Hair:


Learn how to install double ended and single ended synthetic dreadlocks on super short hair.

Items Needed:
Synthetic Dreadlocks
Elastic Matrix Thread or Rubber Bands
Clips
Tail Comb
Shears
Water Bottle

Steps:
DE-
1. Cut your thread to an appropriate length.
2. Spray area with water for control.
3. Create your attachment section.
4. Use flat clips to keep sections clean.
5. Split the section into two: side by side.
4. Position the dread in between the two sections at the centerfold.
5. Pull both sections of loose hair around the dread.
6. Pinch one leg of the elastic thread in with the natural hair and wrap the other leg of thread around the loose hair for several turns.
7. Tie to secure.
8. Combine one leg of the dread, the ponytail, and one leg of the thread.
9. Using the other leg of thread, wind around and down the dread.
10. Continue banding the length of the dread past the natural ends.
11. Using one leg of the thread, complete three loop knots around the dread. Repeat with the other leg of thread.
12. Knot the two ends together three times and cut away the ends.
13. Repeat with remaining sections.

SE
1. Cut your thread to an appropriate length.
2. Spray area with water for control.
3. Create your attachment section.
4. Use flat clips to keep sections clean.
5. Split the section into two: top and bottom.
4. Feed the hair from the top section through the loop of the dread.
5. Combine the two sections together, creating a spiky ponytail around the dread loop.
6. With the thread and the ponytail pinched together, wind one leg of thread around the natural hair.
7. Tie the thread to secure it.
8. Combine the dread, the ponytail, and one leg of the thread.
9. Wind the free leg of thread around the dread.
10. Continue banding the length of the dread past the natural ends.
11. Using one leg of the thread, complete three loop knots around the dread. Repeat with the other leg of thread.
12. Knot the two ends together three times and cut away the ends.
13. Repeat with remaining sections.

To remove:
1. Cut the elastic thread.
2. Gently loosen thread.
3. Unbraid.
4. Comb out and wash the natural hair.
