Learn how to start dreadlocks and get tips to achieve the look you are after.
1. At the nape, part away a section of hair and clip the remainder up and out of the way.
2. Backcomb the section of hair. Start by using long sweeping strokes, getting tighter with each pass.
3. Bind the base of the dread by pinching the base of the dread, wrapping one tail of thread around it four times, and then tying it into place.
4. Continue working in sections until you have completed the entire head.
