With today being the sexiest holiday of the year, I have already set out my perfect look for Valentine's Day.  As you likely have already realized, hair can make or break even the most stunning outfits. A great way to subdue your sweetheart this Valentine's Day is incorporate some playful, sexy curls into your hairstyle.
 
Nothing is sexier than curls!  Whether you have tight, tousled, or loose curls, you are guaranteed to look inevitably irresistible. For my style, volume and massive amounts of curl are a necessity.  Here's a look at some of my curling essentials and how to use them in order to achieve the best curl possible! 

•Curling Iron
The size of your iron is essential in correlation to the types of curls that you can create. Since I want well-defined spiral curls, a 1'' curling iron is perfect. For improved curling results, separate your hair into small sections, starting with the bottom.  Keep un-styled sections out of your face by clipping them away until ready for curling.

•Heat Protection
My curling iron heats up to 420 degrees!  Too much heat can be damaging to your hair, so it's important to make sure your locks are protected. My favorite product for this is Redken Hot Sets. It provides protection from the heat while adding subtle shine to your hair.  These types of heat protection products should be applied to each section of your hair before you begin to curl it. After applying this product, simply wrap each section of hair around your curling iron and allow a few seconds for the curls to form.

•Hairspray
The last product that is essential for achieving long lasting curls is having an amazing hairspray. You need to use a hairspray that offers the perfect balance between a durable hold and soft flexibility. Redken Quick Dry is my must-have hairspray for curls. This product allows the curls to have some bounce and leaves them crunch-free. Apply hairspray to each curl as you unravel it from the iron to complete your finished look.

Combining these products with simple styling techniques will give me sexy curls that will last all night long!
