Cornrows

DIY Extensions Cornrows are completed by using a series of finger motions to braid hair along the scalp.

Braiding extension hair into the cornrows will help cornrows last longer and stay neater. Cornrows typically last from two weeks to one month.

Smaller cornrows can be left in longer than large ones. Often do-rags or bandanas are used to maintain fly-aways and frizz.

Silk pillowcases are also recommended to try to reduce friction on the braids while you sleep.

Cornrows are not always stand-alone styles. Many extension methods use cornrows as their base. Braided weaves and latch hook (aka crochet) styles are two of the most common.
